Welcome to the GTEC 2012 Press Centre. Here you will find helpful information to guide you through the press registration process as well as other media resources.

Press Registration Information

Online media registration for GTEC is now closed. If you are interested in attending the event as media, please review the required credentials below to ensure criteria is met. Bring with you a proper photo ID or business card and a recent copy of your bylined work, relevant to the industry for onsite registration.

Media Room Hours and Briefing Space

There will be a working Media Room onsite available for pre-registered media. In addition, this space is available to conduct media interviews with attending exhibitors or speakers. Space is available on a first-come, first-serve basis onsite.

Please note: the Media Room may only be used by registered press, analysts and bloggers and exhibitors when accompanied by a member of the media. For each meeting, one attendee must be registered as media (journalist/analyst/blogger) and the other must be a registered exhibitor.

The Media Room is located in Room 101 and will be open during the following hours:

Monday, November 5th 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM

Tuesday, November 6th 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Wednesday, November 7th 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Required Credentials for Press, Analysts and Bloggers

To qualify for a complimentary media pass for GTEC 2012, the applicant must cover the industry on a regular basis by writing regular reports or publishing relevant articles on the industry that are not solicited by an exhibiting company and are not confidential. Private consultants who are paid by an individual company are not eligible for a media pass, and should request a pass from the sponsoring company. Additional information on requirements for press, analysts and bloggers is as follows.

One of the following credentials must be presented in advance of GTEC 2012 before media registration can be approved. Before proceeding, please review: Titles accepted

  • Trade/Business Publications; Online/News Services
  • Industry Analysts
  • Online News Outlets
  • Association Publications/Newsletters
  • Freelance Writers and Authors
  • Bloggers

Trade/Business Publications; Online/News Services

Reporters from industry trade publications, newspapers and wire services must provide a sample of an article published within the past six months that clearly displays authorship.

Industry Analysts

Writers from internationally recognized market research or financial institutions who consistently write for regularly published newsletters and/or reports must provide a sample of an industry-related report published within the past six months that clearly displays authorship.

Online News Outlets

An online news outlet must contain original news content above and beyond links, forums, troubleshooting tips and reader contributors, and have a readership of over 1,000 per month. Each news outlet must have a paid reporting staff of two or more and most post original, dated, industry-related news at least once per week.

Association Publications/Newsletters

Reporters from internationally recognized magazines, newspapers or newsletters produced by industry associations must provide an article published within the past six months. Newsletter reporters must have a registered subscriber base of at least 500.

Freelance Writers and Authors

Persons requesting freelance credentials must provide an article published within the past six months. Those who freelance occasionally and are employed by non-news organizations are not eligible for media credentials.

Bloggers

Bloggers must cover the industry on a regular basis and must have written on the business technology industry within six months of requesting a media badge. Blogs must contain original, dated, industry-related news content above and beyond links, forums, troubleshooting tips and reader contributions, and have been in existence at least one year before media badge request. No corporate or personal blogs will be considered.

We reserve the right to refuse media badges, without cause, during pre-registration as well as onsite media registration. Only commercial news outlets and major analyst firms will be issued media badges.

Broadcasting Titles:
  • Anchor
  • Broadcast Producer

  • Sound engineer
Market Research Titles:
  • Analyst
  • President
  • Program Director

Vice President Note: Press credentials are reserved for editorial staff and analysts. Press credentials will not be issued for publication and research employees with the following types of titles:
