GTEC 2012 Call for Papers

Welcome to the GTEC 2012 Call for Papers.

GTEC brings together leading public and private sector experts to collaborate on serving citizens better through innovation and technology. Our Conference, Exhibition and Distinction Awards Program celebrates best of breed technology, and best practice leadership in Canadian and international government.

For 20 years, the GTEC Conference has given IT professionals the know-how and confidence to adopt the latest innovations within their organizations. We are eager, as always, to find speakers who will inform and inspire our attendees.

GTEC provides a unique platform to discuss forward-thinking topics and technologies presented by both government and private sector leaders. In 2012, GTEC will focus on:

  • Pursuing the principles of open government as well as open data and transparency
  • Exploring and examining processes and practices that support innovation while reducing costs
  • Comparing Technology & Tools – past, present and future
  • Valuing People
  • Enabling the Organizational and Policy Infrastructure/Foundation

We will accept presentation summaries for GTEC 2012 from industry, government, the educational community, associations and the public sector.

Please do not use quotes or apostrophes.

Important Note:
No presentation will be selected unless it relates directly to the conference theme ‘Collaborating and Innovating – Making a Difference for Canadians’. Cases, research and reference models should be featured in the presentation abstract to ensure the presentation clearly addresses the theme in a product agnostic tone.

When suggesting a topic, please make sure:

  • Your content is interesting, nonpartisan, and product agnostic.
  • You use real-world examples and case studies wherever possible.
  • You keep the submission short and to the point. If it takes too long to explain, it's likely that attendees won't understand what it's about and won't attend.

All highlighted fields are required.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, April 16th, 2012.

Presentations that do not meet the criteria for the conference can be presented in the seminar or workshop programs at the GTEC Exhibition. For further information, please contact Terry Horsman, Director of Sales & Marketing at (613) 599-8880, ext. 105 ( )
