Distinction Awards Program and GalaThe Awards in 2010For the past 17 years, the Distinction Awards have been a hallmark recognition program for the public sector. They recognize leadership, innovation and excellence in information management in the public sector with the prestigious Distinction Award Medal. Over the history of the awards, 486 medals have been awarded to government agencies. With increased partnership, consolidation and re-engineering of services it is important to evolve the awards in keeping with the evolution of technologies and government services. Therefore, from 2009 and beyond, only one medal per category will be awarded totaling up to 17 medals each year. It is believed that awarding only one medal per category will ensure that the GTEC Distinction Awards continue to celebrate excellence in innovation and transformation within the public sector. Overview Intent to Submit Important Note: All nomination ballot forms must be received no later than 11:59 p.m., May 21, 2010. If you are unable to submit your nomination ballot by this deadline, you must send in your "Intent to Submit" as noted above by no later than May 7, 2010. Unfortunately, if you miss either of these deadlines, your nomination cannot be considered.
