In addition to specific categories for federal, provincial, and municipal nominations, a group of 21 awards is now open to all levels of government. Up to 42 Awards may be given in five groups, encompassing 17 categories. In 2008, there are separate groups for Federal Awards (Group I), Provincial Awards (Group II), Municipal Awards (Group III), National Awards (Group IV) and Leadership Awards (Group V). Nominations in each of the groupings will be subject to a rigorous screening and judging process by distinguished representatives from the particular jurisdictions involved.
