What is GTEC?
GTEC 2008 has evolved over 15 years to become the most substantive public sector learning event of the year. It is the annual meeting place for federal, provincial, municipal, and regional leaders, from around the world, to share information, knowledge and professional experiences in serving citizens better with the use of information and communications technologies.
Over 4 days, the conference offers keynotes, panels, case-studies and thought leadership sessions geared to educate government executives on the challenges governments face in delivering services in the networked world.
In recent years, GTEC has been exploring a new era of innovation and collaboration under a banner of "Government 2.0". This multi-year theme encompasses and addresses the emergence of Web 2.0 technologies but also addresses citizen-centered service delivery, and government service transformation. We have probed issues around complex projects, innovation in government, and continue to discuss the challenges of building leadership and results out of departments in an era of accountability.
